The world appear to resemble detailed miniature worlds, with protagonists having a whimsical stylized appearance.

The creators has introduced several modernizations to streamline the classic gameplay loop. These include:

• Streamlined Overworld Battles: Inspired by modern role-playing games, low-level foes are now defeated instantly on the field without initiating a full turn-based battle screen.
• Variable Battle Pace: Gamers have the option to accelerate battle sequences to quickly power through easier encounters.
• Expanded Vocation Mechanics: One completely new vocation has been created for this remake. Additionally, party members gain the ability to master a secondary job, significantly expanding customization options.

These refinements are aimed at mitigate one of the original game's most noted points of feedback: its daunting scope. That original main quest was known to take over 100 hours to see through. This reimagined version was expressly reworked to refine progression and reduce perceived filler.
