More than two weeks following the shocking loss of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the pair.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to express about his personal sorrow.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can now put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the production, adding that he could not remember "any day without mirth".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a great team would be an understatement. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked beautifully with the cast, and he comprehended the human predicament of his character," Scorsese noted.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A judicial mandate issued a embargo on the cases to limit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" associated with the active case.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record citing the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

In the wake of the killings, public personalities shared different responses.

Former President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making controversial statements that were widely condemned by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his show, Rogan described the comments as "shocking" and suggested they showed a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan ended by remarking that an aide could have acted when the decision to speak on the death was made.
