FC Barcelona Ready for First Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition two and a half years following their departure for construction to commence.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barça organized an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
