🔗 Share this article The Latest Relaxed Game Mode Ignites Intense Debates Over AI Players, Experience Points, and Queue Times Over the weekend, the game developers launched a fresh game mode called Casual Breakthrough. In essence, this option mirrors the standard Breakthrough setup but features a few key adjustments: Every squad includes only 8 real players, with the remaining filled by 32 bots. Actions performed by human gamers award full XP, while AI activities offer reduced XP. Just a pair of maps are available: Siege of Cairo and Empire State map. Features like Player tags, achievements, and career stat updates are disabled. So essentially, the playlist lives up to its name: it offers a laid-back version of Breakthrough. On the surface, you might think there's nothing wrong, since it provides additional choices for gamers looking for different ways to enjoy the title. However, if video games has shown one thing, it is that not everyone will be happy. In other words, many Battlefield 6 players are mad. Player Responses: Anger to Praise "People want human opponents. Avoid making the errors of your competitors," reads one reply to the official announcement. "Absolutely shocking concept," comments another. Meanwhile, in community forums, a player remarks, "I have no idea where we are headed with this title," and another details everything they consider to be broken in Battlefield 6: "Resolve glitches, fix drone glitch, correct rocket mechanics, adjust aiming after sprinting, improve hit detection. We do not require this bot mode." However, for every complaint, there are players sharing how much they're enjoying the new mode. "It's very fun to practice, human participants prevent it from being a total farmfest but it's very relaxed," says a forum post. "This subreddit fails to see that there are players who have lives and don't play this game all the time. Let them strike a balance," adds another. A response on Twitter explains that as they're "a battledad with limited time, this is perfect for me," and someone else praises the mode for "avoiding intense competition." Valid Concerns and Community Input Despite the support, there are constructive reasons to complain about the new mode. Some users have pointed out that it could increase queue times even longer for different playlists due to the sheer number of options currently available. On a similar note, some areas already encounter AI-filled matches in the current modes. Additionally, it appears a little backwards that the mode won't start without a required amount of real players, despite it primarily centers on fighting AI opponents. Finally, one of the biggest grievances is that a previous feature was meant to provide full XP, even against bots, but that was removed when they tried to eliminate XP farming from the mode. So this new playlist feels like the community compromising halfway, as per a Reddit comment. Another describes this mode as the developers "dropping the ball significantly, I had so much fun in the initial release, why did they feel the need to change it?" Future Prospects: Will Changes Be Made? If the development team has proven anything to date with the latest installment, it is that they're paying attention and responding to player input. Assignments being too difficult were adjusted rapidly, just like the specific battle pass objectives. Chances are that, if their data shows this new playlist is underperforming to their expectations, they will not hesitate to change it again.
